Olivia Kohn is a junior at Pitzer College in Claremont, California, where she is pursuing a combined degree in studio art and environmental analysis with a minor in French. During her time at Pitzer, she focuses her studio art studies on black and white film photography and is involved with Claremont Market Shares, a student run sustainable food distribution program. While initially intending to attend a program in Dakar, Senegal, the program’s cancellation led her to finding SIT Morocco: Field Studies in Journalism and New Media, which she is now extremely grateful for. Though she has little experience in journalism, she feels that it is a medium in which she is able to explore both of her interests while exposing herself to the country’s culture, traditions, and languages. She is hoping to cover stories on Judaism, education, and the arts in Morocco this semester.
