Katie Koontz is a junior at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she is studying International Relations with an interest in French and Francophone Studies. She has held several positions for William and Mary’s student run newspaper, The Flat Hat, including Variety editor, Associate Variety editor and writer. Additionally, Koontz is a communications assistant for the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations. Through this position, Koontz has covered internationally focused events for the ITPIR website. As an International Relations major, Koontz is passionate about experiencing different cultures. After joining the Circumnavigators Club in 2015, Koontz started writing a regular column for the organization’s newsletter, The Log. Koontz is excited to be studying in Morocco this semester to bring together her interests in global affairs, journalism and French.
